Ancestry Autosomal DNA

The DNA sections that members can access are populated by Ancestry DNA matches that have been shared with The Index. There are 3 additional tabs available for logged in members:

  • The DNA: A sortable and queryable list of particpating users and their centimorgan (cM) values.
  • The DNA Lines: A full Thrulines like display of trees and particpants.
  • The DNA Chart: A graphical chart of trees and particpants.
Improvements are planned to make these easier to use.

To participate, you must go into your Ancestry Settings and grant "Viewer" access to your matches. Your matches will then be curated and entered into the index to be made available in the members section of the index.

The curation of your matches is manual, and they have to be typed in manually, so require some time to add and update.

The goal is to use the centimorgan (cM) values and associations to relate floating branches. This may require a some time to resolve.
